

Classes are sorted by both age and ability, but what makes them so unique is the individual flavor that each teacher brings to each class. If your child is new to our acting studio, we do ask that he or she take one session (at least) of a beginner course.
Our categories are generalized, child driven, and created solely for use as guidelines for parents picking classes for their children. Each teacher teaches to the skill level of the group and is allowed to grow and expand the curriculum as the children grow.
Here is a brief description of each class:
Monday 3:45-4:45 - Beginner - Ages 8-10 - Holly Little - $125
Holly's drama classes are based around the fundamentals of storytelling using improvisation and ensemble work to create unique and often abstract performace pieces. Holly focuses on process oriented acting experience which allows for the student's expressive freedom and exploration.
Monday 5:00-6:30 - Intermediate/Advanced - Teen - Nikole Beckwith - $145
This is an advanced teen class where we work on refining various aspects of stage work. finding your instincts, culminating and being aware of stage presence, and holding a character beyond diolouge. When working with text, we not only concentrate on timing and giving and taking focus but, you also learn to look outside of the words to the unsaid and undefined, where a lot of character work can be done. Working with and without scripts, sometimes inventing or improvising original material and peppering the session with discussions about the differences between stage acting vs. screen acting, auditions, professionalism and other relative topics.

Tuesday 5:00-6:15- Intermediate/Advanced - Ages 10, 11 & 12 - Holly Little - $145

Wednesday 4:00-5:00 - Beginner - Ages 6 & 7 - Dierdre Budzyna - $125
Children will learn the basic principles of theater in this class. Each class begins with a physical warm-up, a vocalwarm-up and a group building activity. Students are encouraged to create characters using their bodies and voices. Costume pieces and props are introduced. Theater games and improvisations help students focus on their personal creativity. Each eight week class culminates in a process oriented sharing time.
Thursday 3:45-5:00 - Intermediate/Advanced - Ages 12-14 - Holly Little - $145

Thursday 3:45-5:00 - Advanced - Ages 12-14 - Mara Flynn - $145
The content of my classes vary according to age and experience level,but the philosophy is the same: to create a safe and respectful environment where students feel free and encouraged to express their creativity thru structured theatre excercises. These exercises call upon students to explore movement, voice and character, with an emphasis on improvisation.
With older kids (ages 12-14), more advanced excercises are introduced involving character development and improvisational scenework. In the teen classes, the stakes are raised with the most advanced improvisational excercises and the introduction of monologue and scene work.
